The top brass touted the Sealweld flag on the outskirts of Beijing last week at the 8th China International Pipeline Exhibition. The timing couldn’t be better considering the Financial Post reported days after that China’s oil and gas sector has ramped up exploration by $13 Billion this year. Sealweld has a long history of pipeline commissioning in China, 2 stints of which I was privileged enough to be a part of (including the West-East Gas Pipeline project). As China works to bolster its domestic energy strategy, Canadian crude and LNG exports to the country will, no doubt, decrease in the coming years. However, this leaves a lot of room for the service sector to help with infrastructure, training and maintenance. Sealweld is proud to have steel-toed boots on the ground there and thank our representatives and the pipeline operators there for their hospitality and continued patronage.
